I’m currently studying for the GMAT as well and it’s killing me too. I plan to take the exam in April/May and apply for the MBA in October/November.
About scholarships, you should probably apply for need-based ones. When you’re applying, make sure you apply to schools that you’re sure give scholarships based on need (merit too but since you’re not sure how well you’ll do, need). Some schools like Carnegie Mellon (I think) don’t give scholarships to international students AT ALL so you should look out for those and make sure you don’t apply there if you really need the financial assistance.
